Independent filmmaker Mahmoud al Massad was born to Palestinian parents in Zarqa (Jordan) in 1969. He studied film and art at the Yarmouk Universtiy in Jordan. From 1988 onwards he lived and worked in Romenia, Italy and Germany where he was working in the television and film industry.
Al Massad has been living in The Netherlands since 1995. He worked for Dutch broadcasting companies and returned to independent filmmaking in 1998. He has made several short films and documentaries.
