Carlos Chahine, born in Lebanon in 1959, left his homeland and emigrated to France at the beginning of the Lebanese war in 1975. Following a diploma in dentistry, he studied theatre at the TNS school of Strasbourg.  Since the nineties, he works exclusively as an actor, specially of theatre, in France. Major actor in Ghassan Salhab's films, winner of the best actor award for the "last man" in Singapour, "The North Road" is his first movie as a director.
