FROM GROUND ZERO is a compilation of 22 short films by directors from Gaza. Shot between December 2023 and March 2024, the three- to six-minute short films capture individual perspectives on the current reality of war in Gaza. With a genre mix of feature film, documentary, docufiction, animation, and experimental cinema, FROM GROUND ZERO presents a diversity of stories that reflect the grief, the will to survive, the joy, and the hope inherent in life in Gaza. The project was initiated by Rashid Masharawi, an internationally renowned Palestinian filmmaker from Gaza.
